This fall, Covington Independent Public Schools will participate in the Kentucky Incentives for Prevention (KIP) Youth Survey, a statewide survey that asks students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 about aspects of youth attitudes and behaviors on important topics like substance use and school safety. The purpose of the survey is simple: to help schools better understand student needs so we can strengthen support for students, families, and our community.
The information gathered through KIP helps school leaders:
Spot problems early, before they become bigger concerns,
See patterns in what students are experiencing, and
Create programs and supports that help students stay healthy and succeed.
Important information about participation:
Participation is voluntary.
The survey is anonymous and confidential.
Student names are not collected, and responses cannot be traced back to individual students.
The survey takes about 20 minutes and will be completed during a designated class period at school.
Because parent permission is required, we ask that caregivers of students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 please visit the link below by Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to quickly provide permission electronically.
Completing the permission form takes just a minute, but the information gathered helps guide decisions that affect students across our district. High participation ensures that the results truly reflect our students and community.
Thank you for partnering with us to support our students.
